About
Born and raised in Gastonia, North Carolina, Jewel made her artistic debut at age two when, according to her mother, she grabbed a piece of paper and drew a perfect smiley face in the dentist's office. At the age of seven, she illustrated two children's books. By age 14, Jewel bought a drawing tablet and poured countless hours into learning Photoshop. At that time she began selling her artwork online and garnered a following on YouTube and Instagram. At age 21, she decided to enroll at Catawba Valley Community College for an Associate in Fine Arts in Visual Arts degree to further pursue a career in the field.
In recent years, Jewel's favorite mediums to work with have included oil painting, digital illustration, and watercolor. Her primary style of portraiture captures likeness and personality with great attention to detail and preservation of form. Jewel's primary focus moving forward is to delve into the personal creation of original paintings while working alongside clients to create timeless representations of their cherished memories. Currently, Jewel resides in Newton, North Carolina. She mostly spends her time working, studying for her degree, getting involved with her community, painting, and tending to her animals and garden.
